Hello again!

today we have some great news. :) The generous people over at Motion Samples have uploaded quite a batch of super cool samples to splice. Motion Samples is a professional sample label, they dedicate themselves to making cd’s full of finely crafted loops. If you like what you see from these guys on Splice, make sure you visit their website!

Click the image below to be taken to the splice page of the Motion Samples crew. There you will find some example songs (make sure you read the next blog post to see how you can easily use the samples) and a LOT of funky loops, riffs and total electronic awesomeness.

Happy newyear and new soundcase feature…

Thursday, January 10th, 2008

Hello all,

before we forget: happy newyear!! We hope 2008 brings you all you wanted in 2007 and didn’t get :)

It’s been a long time since we’ve blogged so, here’s something we wanted to write about. We added a new feature where you can add all the sounds from one user, or all the sounds used in a song to your soundcase. This is particularly useful if you like the sounds from a user (and want to make a song from them) or if you’d like to use all the sounds from a song, but start from zero instead of remixing.

A picture is worth a thousand words so here’s 2000 words worth:

Adobe Versus Audio Sequencing and Splice

Wednesday, December 12th, 2007

Hello all! It’s been quite a while since we’ve posted on our blog. Rest assured we are still here, although visibly a bit less active lately. Behind the scenes we are doing lot’s of things, expect some interesting news in the relatively near future…

But, now for something completely different: some of you might already have noticed that the sequencer stopped working in Windows Vista with the latest update of the flash player. Well, it looks like Adobe broke the audio processing/creation system we were using, the system pioneered by André Michelle.

André wrote about the problem in Vista in one of his -rather technical- blog posts, you can read it on this page: http://blog.andre-michelle.com/2007/198/.

If anyone knows anyone at Adobe, please tell them about this blog post. Adobe can solve this whole problem with a flick of the wrist, the problem is that they haven’t been listening to any of the flash+audio developers out there. Until there is either an update to the flash player that fixes this problem, or someone else finds another way to do what we’re doing (and that is highly unlikely) please use Microsoft XP instead of Vista if you wish to use the sequencer…

Thanks for your continued support of Splice!!

What happened to Thaumata??

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

Hellooooooooooooo. I’m already getting questions about why I’m not on your friends lists anymore. The answer is that in the beginning, I was auto-friended to everyone, to help get this party started. But now that you guys are friendlier and have better ways to find one another, we’re discontinuing that.

So, if you’ve never sent me a friends request in the past, but want to be friends still, now is your chance!! I’m still here and I still would love to hear from you.

My page is here. Be my friend?

Calling All Rappers

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

I have a couple of songs here that are just screaming for some rhymes. For starters, I have one by the infamous jdubb. He’s looking for some female voices to go over it:

And have you heard this one yet?

And how about this lovely recording? I’m actually arranging some vocals to go with this one, myself. It was a sound uploaded by dorlyneto that I saved into a song for you:

Let’s hear what you’ve got!
