Adobe Versus Audio Sequencing and Splice

Hello all! It’s been quite a while since we’ve posted on our blog. Rest assured we are still here, although visibly a bit less active lately. Behind the scenes we are doing lot’s of things, expect some interesting news in the relatively near future…

But, now for something completely different: some of you might already have noticed that the sequencer stopped working in Windows Vista with the latest update of the flash player. Well, it looks like Adobe broke the audio processing/creation system we were using, the system pioneered by André Michelle.

André wrote about the problem in Vista in one of his -rather technical- blog posts, you can read it on this page: http://blog.andre-michelle.com/2007/198/.

If anyone knows anyone at Adobe, please tell them about this blog post. Adobe can solve this whole problem with a flick of the wrist, the problem is that they haven’t been listening to any of the flash+audio developers out there. Until there is either an update to the flash player that fixes this problem, or someone else finds another way to do what we’re doing (and that is highly unlikely) please use Microsoft XP instead of Vista if you wish to use the sequencer…

Thanks for your continued support of Splice!!
