Ask and ye shall receive.
Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007I decided last night to try to email the folks at i-morley, and got a lovely response (in english!) from his PR team:
Our blog is linked to the podcast of a Japanese-American personality, Morley Robertson, who works in Japanese broadcasting. He has been in FM radio for over a decade, and his podcast, which is named “i-morley”, is one of the top-downloads in the independent (non-commercial) sector.
Morley has talked about Splice Music on his radio programs more than once, and regularly copies and pastes the “player tags” for songs that have included his samples. These mentions may be contributing to the traffic in your direction.
We hope that your web venture meets success, and we also hope that Splice Music becomes a cultural influence.
For your reference, Morley is right now engaged on a project to go to Tibet. He has won a grant from the Polaroid Corporation in Japan, and will pack his bags for the great journey in February. He is right now studying Chinese everyday, to get a better grip of the situation over there — Tibet is currently administered under Chinese authority. One of his aims is to bring back (if possible, upload from Lhasa) fresh recorded CC Tibetan samples and make them public domain. The documentary web site of this adventure can be found here (there is an English counterpart this time):
How wonderful! The blog is quite interesting and I suspect will be a lot of fun to follow. If you’d like to say hello, I have a sneaking suspicion that you can find Morley here.
