Election Day Contest!

It’s that time again, when bloodsuckers and ghastly ghouls lurk around for treats… Election Season! We take our civic duty seriously here at Splice, so we’re hereby announcing our first song competition. Nominate your politically-themed song by tagging it with “electionday06″ and publishing it. The polls close at midnight, Central Standard Time, on November 7, at which time the creator of the highest rated song will be declared the winner and put in charge of a civilization-ending arsenal of nuclear weapons. That last part was a lie, but we will send the winner a new iPod shuffle.
In the democratic spirit of Splice, we encourage you to upload your own sounds, record an original diatribe right through your browser, or remix music that’s already here. But remember, the Splice team has veto power over the contest, so any unethical candidate will be disqualified. It’s all about the checks and balances, baby. Unlike some elections, every vote counts, so make sure to invite your friends and get your song rated to victory!
Need a little fuel for the fire? It seems some of our politician friends have joined us and you might check out what they have to say. A big old Splice welcome to Dubyah, Tony Blair, Dick Cheney, Rod Blagojevich, Condoleezza Rice, and even dead Finnish president Urho Kaleva Kekkonen, who was rumored to be kicking about in our midst. Got something to say about it? So does infamous internet preacher Spirit of Truth.

Have fun, kiddies!
